The Torino Wireless Foundation

Mission and Activities

Torino Wireless was established in 2003, as a wide partnership between public and private Regional and National actors, to lead the foremost Italian hi-tech district focused on ICT, a shared and coordinated project for the knowledge based development of the Piemonte Region.

Today, Torino Wireless manages the Regional Innovation Cluster on ICT and Multimedia and the National Technology Cluster for Smart Communities, providing innovation-related services to both companies and public stakeholders, with a special focus on complex projects related to Smart City.

Torino Wireless main activities

  • scenario analysis (market and industry) and business opportunity identification focused on vertical high technology fields
  • cluster management and interaction with technology based companies during the mid-long term
  • call for proposals’ support activities for companies that want to participate in European, Italian or regional calls
  • networking and partnership building related to innovation actions, programmes, funds, etc.
  • complex project management related to Smart City, according to the European and Italian (national and regional) policies
  • assistance in networking and business internationalization by supporting access to international markets through the Think-up project (in partnership with Turin Chamber of Commerce’s Agency for Investments, Export and Tourism - CEIPiemonte).

In the European context, Torino Wireless is considered a research center and participates with different roles in Research, Innovation, Coordination and Support projects (Torino Wireless as a partner)
